My name is Rita Fabry. I recently met one of your current employees at a social event, and was intrigued by what he told me about the work at SRLabs. I found the combination of pentesting and research particularly appealing. I have since taken a closer look at your research projects, and after looking into the patch checks for Android systems in Snoopsnitch, I am certain you work on the kind of projects that I would be excited to be part of. Hence I hereby apply for the position of ethical hacker.
My formal education background is in mathematics and physics, but throughout my studies I felt most drawn towards the CompSci aspects, particularly those concerning IT-security. One crucial point in this development was my introduction to Linux many years ago. It sparked my interest in understanding more about how computers and operating systems work. I have used it as my main working OS ever since, and it has given me a far better understanding of how important, complex and sometimes inconvenient security tools still are in practice. I began looking into this field in my spare time, inspired by my own experience and by people in my social circle, who also work or study in the field of IT-security. Throughout the last year I have started looking into reverse engineering and begun playing wargames, leading to experience in cryptanalysis, websecurity (PHP, SQL) and binary exploitation (gdb, Olly, Ida).
In the long run, I want to develop tools and solutions that make security more accessible to both technical and non-technical users. In order to attain this, my next step is expanding my knowledge on and getting more hands-on experience in security testing. From what I have seen so far, SRLabs holds plenty of opportunities for me to do so and also has the potential for me to join and implement research projects later in my career.
I have recently completed my degree and thus will be able to start working right away, depending on when we can schedule an interview.
I look forward to meeting you, and to learning more about SRLabs and how we might fit together. If you require any additional information, don't hesitate call.
